 Candor Superintendent Selection

The Board of the Candor Central School District is pleased to announce that it has selected Brent Suddaby as its next Superintendent of Schools. His formal appointment as Superintendent of Schools will take place as soon as the Board has completed contract negotiations with Mr. Suddaby.

Brent Suddaby currently serves as Stonehedge Elementary School Principal in the West Genesee Central School District, a position he has held since 2012. Prior administrative positions include time as Tully Elementary School Principal and Director of Pupil Services at Mexico Central School District. Mr. Suddaby taught Special Education in the Westhill Central School and has spent time as an adjunct instructor at LeMoyne College.

The Board of Education wishes to thank all in the Candor Central School District and Community who participated in the selection process. The Board considered every comment made on the stakeholder interview ThoughtExchange and appreciated the many faculty, staff, student, administrative and community members who reached out directly to offer their perspective. Your thoughts and suggestions were valuable throughout this process.

The Board of Education and the Candor Community sincerely welcome Brent Suddaby and wish him much success. We hope you join us in committing to a productive partnership with our new Superintendent as he endeavors to serve all the students attending our schools.

Dear Candor School Community:

Because of information released late Friday afternoon by the NYS Commissioner of Health, it has been widely misinterpreted that masks are no longer required in school.

As of today, June 6th, the CDC has not lifted the mask requirement for in-person instruction for New York schools.

We look forward to the return of a more “normal” school setting, however, the mask requirement remains in place. A notification will sent to the entire school community if and when official changes occur.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult school year.
